Additionally, the recently upgraded and expanded Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is the largest diagnostic and acute care facility in the entire region.

To get further afield, nearby Trail Regional Airport is home to Pacific Coastal Airlines, offering twice-daily flights to Vancouver and Victoria.
