I’ve been lucky enough to be a Kootenay girl since 1971, and honestly, I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Rossland is where parents raised me, where my husband and I brought up our three girls, and where life still involves ski days, bike laps, mountain trails, fishing, gardens, and adventures with friends, family, and man’s best friend.
If you know the Kootenays, you know it’s not just a place — it’s a lifestyle.
Before real estate, I worked in home construction, design, landscaping, customer service, and inventory management — experiences that gave me a solid understanding of homes, people, and what makes a property truly work for a lifestyle. Add in growing up in a family of self-employed entrepreneurs, 15 years of competitive ski racing, and university years spent living in Alaska, and it all naturally led me down the road to becoming an owner and REALTOR® with Century 21 Kootenay Homes.
These days, I help people buy and sell homes throughout my West Kootenay neighbourhood in cool places like Rossland, Trail, Warfield, Fruitvale, and Montrose — whether they’re looking for a ski town getaway, a family home, a mountain bike basecamp, golf club or a full-time move to the Kootenays.
I see all of these communities as connected pieces of one amazing region, and I love helping people discover what makes life here so special. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a longtime family property, or chasing a lifestyle change, I’m here to make the process feel straightforward, supportive, and maybe even a little fun along the way.
Melannie’s Real Estate Listings
“Excellent knowledge of the Real Estate market in her area. Very collaborative approach as an agent. Took the time to help me determine a fair asking price for the property I was selling. Discussed with me the pros and cons of the offers that did come in. Forward thinking in that she helped me plan for the possibility that the conditional offer I accepted might fall through. (Fortunately it didn’t.) From what I understand the buyers are pleased with their purchase and I know I am pleased with the way the whole process went.”
