The City of Rossland is a beautiful mountain town nestled high in the Monashee Mountains. The city is of the Canada’s highest in elevation and as such has a reputation for world class skiing. The city celebrates its rich heritage and brings the community together with street vendors, children’s games, horseback rides, stage entertainment and a parade. In January, the Winter Carnival offers live music festival, epic bobsled races, outdoor beer gardens, a variety show and so much more. The tradition has been kept alive since 1898. The Rossland Arena features one indoor ice surface and a curling rink. The Miner’s Hall was built in 1898 and served as the central organization point for the Miners Union. Today, the building still stands and is used for dances, theatrical productions (Gold Fever Follies), and gatherings. The Rossland Light Opera Players assembled in 1951, and is believed to be the oldest amateur musical theatre group in the Kootenays, presenting a major musical annually. The Rossland Museum is the perfect place to visit to learn all there is to know about Rossland and its rich history.

Big Red Cats, the world’s largest Cat Skiing Operation is located at Red Mountain as well.
