It is not everyday that you meet someone who inspires you to want to take the time and write about them so others will know who they are. But this summer my husband and I bought a house in Trail, B.C. and our realtor was so outstanding that I just have to let everyone know. So in a nutshell let me tell you why I know how good she is and why you should hire her if you are even vaguely thinking about moving to the West Kootenay’s. Firstly: We had a house on the market for over four years, (because we were living in Wa. State) and in that time we went through 5 agents. Not all of them could survive the housing crash and a couple were just plain poor realtors so we fired them. This experience provided my husband and myself with a good deal of first hand knowledge when it comes to realtors. Secondly: Our final and most successful agent in Wa. was also with Century 21 and although she was good, (good enough that we wanted to give Century 21 another shot here in Trail) she didn’t even come close to Tonnie Stewart. Thirdly: my husband and I had to move twice last summer, we had a new grand baby, we were living in the states and everything had to be done long distance, over the phone, by computer, or fax. We were stressed and tired to the max! Plus we have been married for 44 years so I think dealing with us must have been like trying to talk to Abbot and Costello about who is on base. Here is a short list of the many services & courtesies Tonnie provided for us: She really listened to us concerning our budget; wants, and needs and our don’t wants; She had a fantastic system for eliminating houses; She did tons of extra work because of the distance and found all the numbers and address for us concerning the other professionals we would need to contact in the area; She kept us on track by sending us reminders about all of our paperwork and due dates; She knew how tired, stressed and overwhelmed we! were and helped in every way she could; Plus, and most importantly she never, not even once rolled her eyes at us or got that oh no here we go again look with our endless comedy routine, (and that is a euphemism). I don’t know how she did it.
